Welcome to the Integrated Behavioral Health Services!
What is brief therapy and how could it help me?
Most patients, including those with history of traumas and/or chronic mental health diagnoses, could benefit from brief, solution-focused therapy. For example, brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and brief Dialectical Behavior Therapy have been proven effective in helping patients recognize problematic thinking and behavioral patterns, enhance coping skills, and improve interpersonal relationships. Your clinician will help you decide whether brief therapy is right for you during the free consultation. If your concerns are more suited for long-term therapy, we will help you connect with outside mental health providers.
What is the duration and frequency of brief therapy?
After the initial consultation, eligible patients may receive up to twelve intake/individual/couples/family therapy sessions (30-45 minutes each), occurring either weekly or bi-weekly. Occasionally, your primary therapist may recommend an additional around of twelve sessions based on their clinical judgment and in consultation with the treatment team. Our program does not provide open-ended therapy. If you would like to continue therapy beyond the recommended session limit, we will provide outside referrals for you. There are no session limits for groups.
