Hello and welcome!
I have been employed at Community Health Center for 9 years. I currently work as a certified diabetes educator teaching diabetes self management and medical nutrition therapy utilizing a holistic approach. I have both Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in human nutrition from the University of Massachusetts and Framingham State University and did my Dietetic Internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
I have worked extensively in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, private practice and long term care facilities, but my favorite job is doing nutrition education and counseling, which is why I love my current position! It is very rewarding to see dramatic health improvements through lifestyle modification, primarily food selection and physical activity. I truly believe “we are what we eat.” There is no one size fits all approach, which is why I believe strongly in motivational interviewing. I want to know what motivates my clients and why they want to change. It is only then that change can be effective and make a long term impact on health status.
